Description
this one is an absolute beauty. incredibly rarely do you find legit acetates by any of the big guns from the uk punk / post punk / new wave era. emphasis on the word legit there. it is an original 10" acetate by the jam, featuring the regular 7" cut of "start!" on both sides.
side a is labelled- as all legit ones should be by a worn faded (32 yrs old now remember) master room studios label (the jam cut most of their recordings there and all have this standard master room design) which is finished off with handwritten artist, title and dated. the b side is more of a test cut- it features start in full but is not labelled, so to stress it's a double sided acetate with a and b sides featuring start on both sides. it also has it's original master room orange studios bag (no text but was it's original cover).
this was obtained from an old writer for "sounds" (defunct uk music paper along the same lines as nme, melody maker etc) and is priced according to what previous legit jam acetates have gone for (ie. going underground £1022 + £1055, setting sons also £1022 and £768 for strange town.)
it's not a total disaster if i don't sell it, i've attached an offers option but i'm not going to drop too much on it, it really is a case of "try finding another"!
