I have recently obtained a large collection of UK Apple singles many of which are now listed. They include demo’s, factory sample promo’s, radio station promo’s, Wings Fun Club issues, UK Apple picture sleeve issues and some of the rarer singers. Many are in wonderful EXCELLENT+ condition. The Iveys 1968 UK 1st FACTORY SAMPLE DEMO pressing of the 'Maybe Tomorrow / And Her Daddy's A Millionaire' 7” single. Released on the 15th November 1968, this is one of the very rarest UK Apple singles to obtain. It sold in very, very small amount and failed to make the UK charts.
These initial early factory sample pressings would have usually been given out to reviewers, radio stations or used as quality control within the pressing plant.
Released on the dark Apple label both sides feature the ’Sold In UK….’ text. The centre labels have a raised ridged appearance indicating this is probably a contract pressing not made by EMI. Both sides have the very earliest 1 G /1 G STAMPERS making this one of THE FIRST 300 PRESSED. A real rarity here. The vinyl comes housed within the original 1968 Apple Records sleeve.
The matrix numbers are:
Side 1: APPLE 5 A-1 1 G KT
Side 2: APPLE 5 B-2 1 G KT
The vinyl is in VERY GOOD condition.
Both labels are in MINT- condition on the a-side and VERY GOOD+ condition on the b-side.
The sleeve is in VERY GOOD+ condition.
