Original USA pressing of Sahara Records #101, vinyl LP record. Not a reissue, second pressing or counterfeit (it is NOT the Eva bootleg). Rochester NY band on Buffalo label. Recorded and released in 1965. Superb raw garage on the frat side. Wilder than most "garage" albums, high energy - this ain't no half-hearted Justice LP . No fuzz, too early for that, but still nice dirty guitar sound... with growling, yelping, echoey vocals. Their 'hit' is included here - "The Hump" - the dance for which they became infamous, and banned. LP is half originals like "Long Tall Shortie" and "Do It" and half great covers like "Louie Louie", "Rolling Stone" "Satisfaction", "Hang On Sloopy" and "Farmer John". Even a beer-soaked version of "Like A Rolling Stone". They probably just came in and went down their setlist from their last gig at Tiny's Bengal Inn. Great cover art and photo, reminding me of The Barbarians somehow. And, fashion-wise, the best boot-wearing ever, rivalling The Seeds!

VINYL: visually VG. Has lots of light surface lines and few deeper scratches but no gouges. A good portion of the marks are due more to the nature of the STYRENE material than to abuse. For this reason I grade styrene a little less strictly than vinyl. And her'es the reason: it playgrades at VG+, if not NM-. There is almost no surface noise at all. Sounds fantastic. LABELS: the labels are above average for one reason- they're both there! Due to the glue they used, which didn't adhere to styrene, this isn't always the case. Often this LP is found with one or both labels missing. The only flaws here are one tiny frayed edge on the Side 1 label, and a name written on the Side 2 label (see photo). COVER: Strong VG++. Actually, as this one goes, you could consider it NM or NM-, relative to any other copies that would be available. The only issues are a few light creases, and some spots on the upper seam (mostly toward the opening) where someone touched up the black with a marker.
