THE HOGS WERE ACTUALLY THE PSYCH ROCKERS THE CHOCOLATE WATCHBAND! (READ BELOW) PRODUCED BY "THE PHANTOM" ( RUMORED TO BE FRANK ZAPPA!)

RARELY COMES UP IN GOOD CONDITION, AND THIS ONE PLAYS EXCELLENT!
Hot on the heels of Davie Allan & The Arrows’ archetypal biker instrumental “Blue’s Theme” came this one-off cover by none other than The Chocolate Watchband under the nom de plume ‘The Hogs.’ Which should come as no surprise to anybody now, but back in the early eighties when the B-side, “Loose Lip Sync Ship” surfaced on “Pebbles Vol. 3,” it took only one listen of “Gossamer Wings” off The Watchband’s “No Way Out” LP to see that it was in essence the same track, save for different freak-out additives at the coda and stripped of the session vocals I don’t know if it was The Watchband’s Jagger-obsessed vocalist Dave Aguilar doing the overloaded and reverbed spoken words at the end as he riffs on the well-known American TV commercial for Trix, a breakfast cereal (“Freaks are for kids, not for silly rabbits!!!”) but whoever it was, it was probably his first experience with an echo chamber because after a mini free-form freak-out, some church organ chords waft in and then he starts vamping on a church service (“I would like all of you to turn to chapter 37, and we will all sing hymns”) which is respectful until some joker in the band starts up with an intonation of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” causing peals of insane teenage laughter ring throughout and filtered through the severest reverb. It fades into electro-smear as you hear the vocalist go “All right, that was perfect!” Classic.

THE VINYL IS VG+ - SHOWS UNDER LIGHTS HAIR LINES AND ONE FEELABLE SCRATCH ON B SIDE ON SHINY US VINYL 

THE RECORD PLAYS EXCELLENT! FULL DYNAMICS WITH NO REAL SURFACE NOISE! THIS RECORD REALLY ROCKS!

THE LABELS ARE VG++, BRIGHT WITH NO STICKERS! NO WRITING NO NAMES AND SOME RING WEAR

FINALLY ONE LAST WORD RE HAIRLINES, IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ANY NON SEALED RECORD WITHOUT THEM, MANY HAD THEM FROM NEW. MOSTLY THEY ARE A RESULT OF STORAGE AND USE AND USUALLY HAVE LITTLE IMPACT ON THE SOUND QUALITY. THE SAME GOES FOR BACKGROUND NOISE, UNFORTUNATELY ALL RECORDS WILL HAVE SOME AND THIS VARIES AND REFLECTS THE PRESSING QUALITY. 

Most records have production marks where someone touched or moved the vinyl while it was still semi-soft.  These marks look like smudges, but are not scratches or "paper scuffs" and do not usually sound.  Untouched vinyl from newly-opened records have these marks.

How I Grade Condition Of Discs

Mint

This means I have owned it from new or purchased from a distributors warehouse, basically it means absolutely new shape, never been played or out of its dust cover. In the case of LP's, a North American album will have to be factory sealed (anyone can reseal an album!) Take Note: European and Japaneses albums were never shrink wrapped!

Note: Being mint does not guarantee it's free of pops and clicks, many pressings especially from the US were made with very poor vinyl and in a hurry which means often there are imperfections in the pressing. As a former importer, we were often given back brand new albums due to clicks heard in the playback.

Mint Minus - No such thing, it's either mint or not.

Excellent - A disc is super clean, with no visible marks

 Excellent Plus, means it's probably mint but can't be proven by me.

Excellent minus, is a disc that is excellent except it may have some markings that do not show up in the playing

VG - A disc that is STILL in good shape, WILL have some scuffs or scratches, not in excellent shape but well worth owning. VG + and ++,a disc that is that much better than VG.
