Description

The Haunted were a garage rock band based in Montreal Canada, the single "1-2-5/Eight O'clock This Morning" was originally released on the Quality label in Canada (Quality 1814) and the Amy label in the US (Amy 959) in 1966. This is the Australian release from that year on the W & G label.(WG-S-8006). The band line up was:                                   Jurgen Peter                Rhythm Guitar                                   Bob Burgess                Vocals/Harmonica                                   Al Birmingham              Lead Guitar                                   Glenn Holmes               Bass                                   Peter Symes                 Drums
This a used record with numerous scuffs and fine scratches, the vinyl on the A side (1-2-5) is in G+ condition and plays with some low level surface noise on the lead in track, but when the music starts the heavy bass line in the mix masks this and the track plays through really well, both tracks are recorded at a high volume all the way through. The B side (Eight O'clock This Morning) over all is the same surface wise as the A side ,however there are scratches across the whole track, these can be felt when you run your finger over them,(see Photo No 5). The track plays through all the way without skipping, and  the scratches can be heard as a soft "tick" sound, but the volume of the recording and the strong bass line help to reduce the intensity of this sound to an acceptable level, the "tick" sound being most noticeable at the very end of the track, on the last couple of spins. For this reason I have graded this side as G-, I usually play singles in this condition with the stylus weight at 2 grams. The label on the A side has a mark across the W&G logo where sticky tape has been and there is some wear around the edge, the label on the B side is cleaner but has some wear at the bottom. There are no stickers or writing on either label. This a rare single in Canada and the US, but the Australian release is even rarer. The Australian single contains the line "slipping her a bill and giving her a thrill", which was censored on the Canadian release.

I only post  within Australia.
