This is an original American stereo first pressing of ‘The Great Society’s live album ‘Conspicuous only in its absence’ released on COLUMBIA/CBS records in 1968 (Serial Number: CS 9624). This is an extremely rare and collectable item on this format, especially in this condition. 

 ‘The Great Society’ featured Grace Slick on vocals who later joined ‘Jefferson Airplane’, taking her compositions ‘Somebody to love’ and ‘White rabbit’ with her. Both these tracks are included on this incredibly rare album which was recorded live at the Matrix in San Francisco.

Now for the boring Part

Vinyl is graded as Nr Mint and looks unplayed with no visable spindle marks

Cover is graded as Excellent with some slight ring wear, and the paste back is only just starting to come away at the top

The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. EXCELLENT (EX) = The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD (VG) = The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD (G) = The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
