"THE GLASS FAMILY - ELECTRIC BAND"  2015 USA limited edition of 250 copies 22-track 2LP vinyl-set. Housed in a gatefold cover which featuring the original artwork on the front and back, and new artwork plus interview and biography in the inside. On MAPLEWOOD RECORDS label. Catalogue No: MWR0001. Barcode: 769923110424.

The Glass Family released their LP 'Electric Band' in 1968, an acid-, folk- and blues-rock album, with distorted guitars, swirling organ and dirty vocals, that since then has never been reissued until now. Along with a nice remastering of the original LP, this double vinyl package also includes a second disc full of never before heard unreleased tracks from their initial 1968 recording sessions. Standout tracks from the second disc that has a far rawer sound are 'Where'd You Get That Smile' and 'Two x Two' and includes an alternate take of 'House Of Glass'. Both LP's stand out as two different records. 'Electric Band' is the slickly produced record that the label requested, while 'Should We Not Handle Each Other With Care' sounds like a tight, rock band cutting tracks fresh off of playing gigs with the likes of the Vanilla Fudge or the Grateful Dead.
Within the gatefold packaging of this double LP are unique band photos and a biography of the band's experiences in the psychedelic scene of 1960's Southern California. The Glass Family were a solid part of the 1960s cultural revolution, playing gigs and hanging out with people who are now legends. A very relevant release for fans of US '60s psychedelia.

Condition: BRAND NEW - SEALED  Cover shows a small very light dent on front top right/rear top left corner. Otherwise MINT.

    I grade the records visually but strictly, unless otherwise stated. Gradings are according to UK Record Collector's magazine grading system. The standard condition categories and a description of what each ones means are listed below. Please take a look.

    MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or detorioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet,booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
    EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
    VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
    GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
    FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
    POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. Thanks for looking! Please see my other auctions too!
