MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND RCA Victor Records very first Mono PROMOTIONAL press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1969 by RCA Victor Records, catalog number 74-0107, with hand etched matrix numbers 74-0107 A in Side A and 74 0107 B in Side B, with black/silver traditional RCA Victor Records labels, with rounded RCA logo. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! Amazing rarity for all lovers, fans and collectors of The Friends Of Distinction and Psych Soul of late ‘60’s!!!

“Grazing In The Grass” was the first single of The Friends Of Distinction and their biggest hit, originally released in June 1969, and the same year we got this record released here in Chile, with the same US RCA catalog number. Song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriters, producers, arrangements and conduction, of each song, with play time informed. If you know this single, in addition to the UNIQUE BLACK RCA LABELS with push-out center, you could know the song “I Really Hope You Do” was written by Greg Poree and Jerry Peters but in this Chilean press the name of Greg Poree was misspelled “PORES”. You can also see in Side A the squared Promo stamp “MUESTRA SIN VALOR COMERCIAL” (Sample Without Commercial Value”. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE PRESS of The Friends Of Distinction never seen in eBay before, with Spanish titles, UNIQUE BLACK RCA LABELS with push-out center and UNIQUE ERROR, and PROMO STAMPED!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in nice VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, but with many scuffs, hairlines and some very light scratches, which don’t affect play. Labels are in EX+ or NM- condition the Side A, clean and clear, with some spindle hole wear and a pair of very faint little blemishes, hard to see at first sight, and in EX- or even EX condition the Side B, clean and clear, with only light spindle hole wear and a white paper with a number glued at top. The sound is in great EX or even EX+ condition the Side A, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only soft occasional crackles here and there, and in VG- or VG condition the Side B, loud, clear and clean, with soft constant crackles and some occasional light clicks and pops, which don’t really cause major distraction from the nice sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record in this MEGARARE PRESS, maybe not for the strictest Minty minds or audiophiles, but sure it’s still in a great condition, with a very nice look, almost immaculate labels and with still a great sound quality after about 50 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone!!! And don’t forget this MEGARARE PRESS is now auctioned here in eBay by the very first time!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

We have an unique value worldwide:

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for.
