THE FRESHMEN | SIX OF ONE
When The Freshmen recorded their first single in 1964, the Mercury label convinced them to use a different name so that they would not be confused with the American vocal group, The Four Freshmen. Though the single wasn't a hit, The Freshmen (led by the multi-talented Billy Brown), went on to dominate the Irish pop and dancing scene throughout the 1960s.
