Description
heres a classic and original album : The Free Design’s 3rd lp from 1971, HEAVEN AND EARTH (project-3) (pr 5037 sd); (laminated gatefold jacket);vinyl/cover is in ex+/nm ; no split seams, glossy cover (see pic); , corners are sharp, vinyl is super glossy/shiny ; labels are perfect; originated and produced by ENOCH LIGHT; 11 more great songs, mostly originals plus a song from HAIR; The Free Design made some of the most catchest 60s pop-psych, On closer inspection, their songs are gorgeously sung, impeccably arranged, and immaculately recorded, the very definition of “ethereal” and very similar at times to a Stereolab sound. Why they weren’t as huge as the 5th Dimension, we’ll never know. 1969’s “Heaven/Earth” is the FD’s third album, typically dreamy and warm, with bits of the quirkiness that set the FD apart (and possibly kept them off the charts). The more upbeat moments include “Now Is The Time(1)” and “You Be You And I’ll Be Me(2),” along with their wry comment on lack of radio play “2002-A Hit Song(3).” Their familial harmonies often made for definitive versions of the standards of the day, and on this album these include “If I Were A Carpenter” and the “Hair” number “Where Do I Go(4).” This is a pop record through and through, a remnant of a time when “pop” was a musical form worth taking seriously. Ultimately, the Free Design may not be for everyone; lucky Buyer pays either $3.00 media or $6.00 priority shipping and handling; international bidders contact me for rates. I prefer PayPal, but checks (u.s.) or money orders are fine, too. Please email me with any questions!!!
