THE FLAMING STARS

SONGS FROM THE BAR ROOM FLOOR

VINYL JAPAN ASKLP62

RARE, ORIGINAL, U.K. VINYL!

UNPLAYED!

A rare opportunity to bid for this original U.K. pressing of The Flaming Stars' 'Songs From The

Bar Room Floor'! Bought new at the time of release from HMV, Croydon, U.K., it has just been carefully

stored, unplayed, ever since!

Sleeve: Thick card with the front cover showing a colour photo of the band, standing in the street outside The Red

Lion pub! The band name is in white capitals, top-left, with the album title in the bottom-right corner, across four lines,

in yellow, white and red capitals. The back cover colour photo appears to show a piece of broken (head?) stone with

the band's name on it, overgrown with ivy. Track listing is shown top-left, with the barcode (5 021969 117214) top-right

and the label name/logo next to it. The catalogue number is below, with label address details for both Japan and U.K.

underneath. There is a note under the track listing stating, 'Recorded entirely using valve equipment at Toe Rag Studios

in London Jan 11th & 12th, February 5th, 6th, 12th & 13th 1996'. Text from the bottom-left corner reads 'Front and back

cover photography by Mary Scanlon. Back cover letter cutting by James Hollands.' The sleeve is in fantastic, original

condition with the only 'faults' being a minute, less-than-1mm, bump/nick on the front edge, by the album title,

and a couple of very short, fine surface creases from the spine, just onto the front face. The 'faults' are

mentioned for accuracy and are not generally noticeable! Otherwise the sleeve is exactly as it left the printers in

1996! A superb example!

Inner Sleeve: Black and white, thin card picture bag. One side is divided into six panels, alternating text and photos. The first

panel (top-left) reads:

'Recorded entirely using valve equipment at

Toe Rag Studios in London Jan. 12th & 12th,

February 5th, 6th, 12th & 13th 1996

Engineering, Table Top Trickery and Lube Tube

Thanks to Paddy, Wendy & John'

To the right is a photo of two band members, taken by Mary Scanlon, with another of the band

by Laura Foucault, centre-left. To the right is a dedication to Dean Martin, Sterling Morrison and

Charlie Rich, with another Laura Foucault photo of the band underneath and details of The Flaming

Stars' catalogue to the left. The opposite side of the sleeve has the album title, top-left, with individual

black-and-white photos of the band members across the top, taken by Mary Scanlon, Laura Foucault

and Jean-Christophe Biard. Track listing is below, together details of musicians and instruments. The

bag is intact and unmarked!

Matrix Numbers: Side One - DAMONT followed by what looks like an upturned, open staple, then

TOP NOTCH TABLE TOP TRICKERY. ASKLP62 AI - A PORKY PRIME CUT.

Side Two - DAMONT 2 WE NEVER CLOSE. ASKLP62 BI PRIMM followed by a small tick.

Vinyl: Unplayed and unmarked! Beautiful!

Labels: Intact and unmarked, aside from a couple of very short production splits by the hole on

each side. There is a very small loss of surface finish on each side, but this is only noticeable

when angled to the light. The vinyl is a little uneven round the hole on both sides.

See below for details of postage costs for this item.

This is just one item from my own extensive and eclectic personal collection of music and related bits and pieces which I will be listing over the next few months, or so.

I have been collecting for more than 30 years, so check back regularly to see what other gems I may have unearthed - they won't be listed in any particular order! My

recent absence from eBay has been because of work commitments but, as they seem to have dried up, I will be spending more time disposing of my collection!

I am not a dealer, so won't use traditional grading terms but, instead, will describe each item as carefully and honestly as I can with text and photos. Bidders are then free

to form their own opinions. Any apparent marks showing in the photos are reflections or dust, etc., unless otherwise specifically identified. If in doubt, please contact me

with any queries before bidding and I will get back to you promptly with an answer. I will also keep you informed throughout the whole eBay process.

All vinyl will be packaged in sturdy cardboard mailers with at least one stiffener and will be despatched within 2 working days of payment being received. PayPal is preferred,

but please contact me before bidding to discuss alternative, acceptable methods. Postage rates: UK Standard - 2nd Class £3.10, Europe/R.O.T.W - AirMail Standard

£7.00/£11.50.

Please note that I do not combine postage. All items are packaged and sent individually, so as to minimise damage and/or loss.

Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding!
