Description

Up for purchase here is a rare and classic album, THE FIRST EVER LP EVER RELEASED, Columbia 4001 featuring Nathan Milstein performing and Bruno Walter conducting Mendelssohn's Concerto in E Minor. This copy features the second state cover (yellow cardboard) and labels (still original blue but with single line fine text and centered "LP" logo). BUT THE VINYL FEATURES THE ORIGINAL FEATURES OF DEEP GROOVE AND DEAD WAX MARKINGS ("1B" ON EACH SIDE AND "FXLP 276" AND "FXLP277"). The vinyl is also very heavy, I believe near 200gm or more.


THE LP HAS BEEN CLEANED ON A VPI 16.5, COMES IN A NEW MOFI SLEEVE AND WAS TREATED FOR STATIC WITH A MILTY ZEROSTAT.


VINYL: VG (STRONG)

High gloss and no heavy lines. Light lines and smudging over much of the surface. Beautiful fidelity but with the static typical for the earliest vinyl marerial. Plays through well with no skips or jumps.


COVER: VG++

Cover presents great. Great color, strong seams and spine. A little corner wear and age color but one of the nicer examples you will find.
