ONLY COPY ON EBAY AS OF 11-27-2016.  This copy is NOT the 180g reissue from the 2000s that is remastered and does not play the music The Farm Band recorded in 1972 and wanted their fans to listen to and enjoy. 

First LP released by The Farm Band (aka:  Steve & The Farm Band, The Tennessee Farm Band).  US Christian Psychedelic rock band began in San Francisco in the late 1960s as a commune and accompanying hippie xian band of the period.

This copy is nowhere near EX but it plays well and I have priced it to sell without anyone selling their sports car to obtain it (well,  that and the cover VG- condition).  A GREAT add to any psych jam band collection.  The Farm Band sits just to the right of the Grateful Dead’s “Live Dead”.  Trust me, baby.

The Farm is an intentional community in Lewis County, Tennessee, near the town of Summertown, Tennessee based on principles of nonviolence, and respect for the Earth. The actual farm was founded in 1971 by Stephen Gaskin, and 320 San Francisco hippies who were traveling across the USA playing and preaching a hippie Christian ethic.  The Farm is well known amongst hippies and other members of similar subcultures as well as by many vegetarians. In 2014, the Farm had approximately 200 residents.

The Farm Band, a rock group in the early 'jam band' style, which toured the country performing for free at parks, schools, churches, and other accessible venues. Albums from the 1970s include The Farm Band on Mantra Records.   All Farm Band recordings were self-produced and distributed. During the 2000s (decade), Akarma Records in Italy have distributed bootleg copies of their albums. In addition to the rock music recordings, Stephen Gaskin released a spoken word album titled the Great Western Tour in 1974, which was produced and distributed in the same way as their other LPs.

THIS LP IS A PERFECT CHRISTIAN COMPANION TO 1960s / 1970s PSYCHEDELIC JAM ROCK BANDS OF THE ERA.
