The EX
" Aural Guerilla "

TEST PRESSING 12" VINYL LP on Homestead Records 115. PRESSED on Black VINYL
Like most test pressings, this comes in a generic white cover, with a white sleeve inside, pressed on Santa Monica, California label RAINBO RECORDS

WIKIPEDIA SAYS:
Test pressings, usually with Test Pressing written on the label, with catalogue number, artist and recording time or date, are produced in small quantities (usually under 5 copies) to evaluate the quality of the disc production.

Obviously, that makes test pressings, along with the even rarer acetates, the rarest collectibles available when collecting an artist.  Highly prized by collectors for the sheer unavailability, that makes this an especially coveted item.  One of a small handful ever created, AND THIS HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED.  It is like new.  NM vinyl.  Pristine.

From their own website:
1988
The Ex tour Italy and Switzerland with Chumbawamba, plus a 15-date tour in Britain. Jeroen is the new live-sound engineer, as Coby moves to Leeds. They decide to stop changing the name of their record-label with every new release and stick to Ex Records. Its first release is Hands Up! You're Free, a compilation of three John Peel sessions for BBC radio from the period 1983-1986, followed by Aural Guerrilla, recorded in Rochdale, England and again produced by Jon Langford of THE MEKONS. The LP also contains a special treatment of Peter Hammill's A Motorbike In Afrika. Meanwhile in Holland the group cause a stir with the Rara Rap, an anti-apartheid single, released for the benefit of imprisoned presumed firebomb activists. Then they record two songs for Intifada, a well-documented compilation-album about the Palestinian uprising.

Etched Message in the matrix of the vinyl:

Which just goes to prove that it's one of the VERY RARE TEST PRESSINGS for the Homestead 1988 LP

Beautiful condition.
Vinyl NM/MINT
NEVER PLAYED

Our vinyl is UNPLAYED and we display it without manhandling it.  And they've never even been removed from their individual sleeves.  We are collectors, every one of us working here, and we want you to get your collectibles in the best condition possible, therefore WE NEVER REMOVE VINYL FROM ITS SLEEVE AND LEAN IT AGAINST ANYTHING nor do we REMOVE THE VINYL RECORDS FROM THEIR SLEEVES & LAY THEM DOWN ON A SURFACE TO DISPLAY THEM.

Many sellers seem to have a disregard for the items they're selling and only care about making their pictures look pretty.  We only care about the pieces we sell.  And you.  So you'll see that the records are displayed IN THEIR ORIGINAL SLEEVES, with just a hint of the vinyl showing so that you can see what color they are.  If you want to see the vinyl pulled from its sleeve and resting on a dusty surface, look at someone else's auction or blog and then come back to our page and buy a copy in PERFECT SHAPE.

WIKI INFO:
The Ex is an anarchist band from the Netherlands. They formed in 1979 at the height of the original punk explosion and have released more than twenty full length albums since.
The Ex's music has undergone significant evolution over the years, beginning as a simple lo-fi anarcho-punk band. Founded in 1979 by singer G.W. Sok, guitarist Terrie Hessels, drummer Guert and bassist René, the band debuted with a single titled "Stupid Americans" on the Utregpunx vinyl 7" compilation released by Rock Against records in Rotterdam. The release of their first 7" All Corpses Smell the Same came shortly thereafter in 1980. Through the decades they gradually developed into their current form of highly intricate, experimental punk/post-punk/no wave-inspired work.
The band has had successful collaborations with many disparate artists, including UK anarchist band Chumbawamba (sometimes using the name Antidote), the Dog Faced Hermans (one former member of that band, Andy Moor, is currently part of The Ex), and with the late avant-garde cellist Tom Cora in the early 1990s, resulting in the album Scrabbling At the Lock in 1991 and the follow-up And the Weathermen Shrug Their Shoulders in 1993. The album In the Fishtank 5 was made with America's Tortoise, and on In the Fishtank 9, they collaborated with members of Sonic Youth and the Dutch improvisers ICP.

If you end up buying two items, the highest postage price applies.  Like, if you buy an LP & a 7", the LP postage is what counts, but if you buy 2 of the same thing, it stays the same price.  For each additional item add $1 if you want to hurry your payment.  If you don't want to figure it all out on your own, wait for us to invoice you.  We're pretty quick about that.  The accounting department is fast, man.

See the photo(s).

This is vinyl, NOT A CD.  You play it on a turntable.  That's an arcane device that spins plastic around and around at a constant speed and a diamond on the end of a stick scrapes at it and makes noise that you hopefully enjoy.

Have a good time bidding. Maybe you can get it for a steal. Good luck. Hopefully you'll get it for a good price. If you have any questions, fire 'em at us!

We will ship this ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.

ORDERS OVERSEAS, ESPECIALLY TO EUROPE (AND ESPECIALLY ESPECIALLY GERMANY) ARE SOMETIMES TAKING A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF TIME.  SOME VINYL IS TAKING UP TO A MONTH TO ARRIVE.  IF YOU CAN TAKE THIS INTO ACCOUNT AS A POSSIBILITY, GO AHEAD AND BID.
