Description

THE ELECTRIC FLAG - A LONG TIME COMIN'

A truly excellent condition copy of this long deleted, rare and sought after psych/acid/experimental rock gem

Year/Label : 1968 CBS UK Label number : 63294 STEREO Matrix numbers :  SBPG 63294 A1, SBPG 63294 B1 Stampers :  0 A5  /  0
Excellent plus (EX+) condition vinyl - flat and retaining it's original jet black lacquered sheen and in normal daylight comes across as unmarked - a real gleamer. Absolutely gorgeous vinyl and it is only with very close inspection under a bright light you might just be able to detect one or two small and extremely faint paper scuff marks - these are negligible and of course purely superficial. Amazing to find a 1st pressing copy of this 57 year old LP in such wonderful condition as this. The labels are again excellent plus (EX+) - near perfect with just a couple of small and very faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label...nothing really. Clearly, this is a record that has only been played a few times.  A very good plus (VG+) condition front-side only laminated Upton Printing outer sleeve with firm edges including a rigid spine where all spine text remains perfectly legible. There is just the very occasional tiny scuff "nick" on each of the spine and upper edge and a more noticeable 3cm scuff on the top edge (see photo). The corners remain well defined right angles with barely any rubbing at all, there is no laminate lifting, and the opening edges remain firm with no fraying. There are just a few non-obvious 0.5-1cm laminate "crinkles"/surface creases adjacent and perpendicular to the spine on the front side and a few very minor marks on each side due to past storage and/or handling, including a couple of small areas of slight age discolouration on the reverse side. All colours, text and beautiful art work remain nicely intact with impressive definition still. In summary, some minor blemishes but remaining fully functional and highlyly presentable.  Excellent plus (EX+) stereo sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion, clicks or background crackle. Great tone and clarity throughout. Every track makes for an excellent llisten still on this very much Mike Bloomfield inspired 1968 album. Comes with original plain white inner sleeve with no splits but there is some creasing towards the edges and noticeable age discolouration. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.
 Long lost, very hard to find blues-rock gem and difficult to believe that this copy is 57 years of age!
POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £3.64 using Royal Mail tracked 48, ebay "Simple Delivery";

for continental Europe £11 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £17 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
