THE ELASTICK BAND – Spazz / Papier Mache

ORIG Stateside DEMO / SS 2056 (UK, 1967)

Here’s a truly rare record.  As any record collector will know, that’s a much overused word but anyone who knows the history of this record will agree that it’s certainly applicable here.  Only released in demo format here in the UK, never considered for commercial release, it survives in tiny numbers and only surfaces for sale once in a blue moon.  It’s also a cracking record.  Most people will know it from its appearance on the first ‘Pebbles’ compilation in the late 1970s, and what a bonkers, unusual song it is…

The green and white ‘A’ labels are fine.  A little stress ‘crinkling’ around the A centre but hardly any spindle evidence and NO writing, stickers, residue or tears/rips/paper loss. ‘KT’ embossed to the ‘A’ centre.

The vinyl is in EX- (Near Excellent) condition.  There’s a few soft insignificant surface scuffs and lines over the two sides but nothing intrusive, feelable or deep.  NO scratches, dulling or embedded dirt.  Plenty of shine still in evidence.  Overall, very pleasing shape.
IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and plays near perfectly both sides.  Virtually quiet run-ins.  So expect NO snap, crackle or pop.  NO ticks, clicks or hiss.  NOR any distortion, groove wear or loss of clarity.
Presented in the correct company sleeve, this is a VERY RARE OPPORTUNITY to bag this legendary disc!
