'THE EASYBEATS'
'HEAVEN AND HELL' b/w
'PRETTY GIRL'
on Original UNITED ARTISTS RECORDS PROMO 45RPM UP 1183 from 1967
The EASYBEATS were British migrants, sons of parents who emigrated to Australia - but the lads realised the 'scene' was happening in a big way back in the Mother country, swinging England.
Their psych rarity is proof of The Beatles influence on psych music in the sixties at this time. The wonderful instrumental interplay in the intro, the taut controlled vocal style reminiscent of Lennon, the tight beat and the starkly controversial lyrical content (for 1967), makes for a great and exciting record. Still, there's an originality to the approach here - it's punchier and more 'freaky' for all its' intensity - and that's down to the brilliance of one Glynn Johns' excellent production.
Vanda and Young, members of this band, were songwriters of renown, too.
This great single stands as evidence!
Hear it for yourself!
This is a rare collectible, and a great and increasingly sought-after psych 'freakbeat' single.
The VINYL is visually MINT with no marks whatsoever, FULL shine, SPOTLESS!
LABLES are clean NM, no stickers, or stains, only ONE spindle-line visible to suggest it has ever been even played!
A top playing copy, and very worthwhile music, by early greats on the British beat boom scene.
