The Doors Strange Days 1967 Elektra Monarch 1st Stereo Pressing

Incredible item to add to your collection. The Sample Copy of The Doors Strange Days, which belonged to the "Sunset Sound Recorders" recording studio where The Doors was recording this album. This is the true 1st pressing copy with the 1st mastering having the MON-1 not only on Side 1, but also on Side 2. The copy was pressed at the Monarch pressing plant, which was 15 minutes away from Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood where the recording studio was located. The vintage stamp located on the Side 1 label reads: " Sunset Sound Recorders 6650 Sunset Blvd Hollywood California 90028". This Stereo true 1st pressing copy sounds more vivid with more saturated details than the subsequent MON-2 copies. The MON-1 Side 2 mastering is also notable for a defect at the beginning of the side, a fluttering drop-out in one channel during the guitar intro to "People Are Strange". The Near Mint cover remains in the original shrink wrap. The album comes with the custom "Strange Days" lyrics / photo inner sleeve. 1st print unique gold Monarch pressing Elektra labels with a 2.85' pressing ring, no text on the left side and "Stereo"  in a bold font, catalog number EKS-74014 along with the Side identifier on the right side. I grade Side 1 vinyl as Excellent Minus and Side 2 as strong Very Good Plus.  The full matrix numbers are: EKS 74014A (MON-1) MR in Circle ?11050  1; EKS 74014B (MON-1) MR ?11050-X.
