A Little bit about myself.  I've been selling records on and off on eBay for quite a few years now.  I have never received a neutral or negative feedback (for records or any other item).  I grade conservatively and always get compliments on professional packing.  I use the LP mailer with two cardboard inserts.  The vinyl will be outside of the cover during shipping so as not to cause damage to the cover in transit.   I use Goldmine grading standards and these records have all been visually graded and sometimes play-graded (where noted).

Let me state up front that it may take me a week or a little more to get this in the mail once the auction ends.  I will be at sea that week and so may not be able to get it in the mail before leaving. 


ARTIST/ALBUM:The Doors, Waiting for the Sun.  MONO.
LABEL:  Elektra Records, EKL 4024 Mono.
VINYL VISUAL GRADE IF APPLICABLE: Playgrade: Slightly weak VG+.  Some crackles that do not affect play/listening experience.  Highly listenable copy.  Wonderful mono sound.
LABEL CONDITION: NM-.  Matrix reads EKL 4024 A-1C and EKL 4024 B-1C.
COVER: Spine was scotch taped sometime in the past (not by me) but it actually helped to preserve its legibility.  If you put any light at an angle to the front you can see some sort of bubbling or staining from water maybe in the past.  Not bad if looking at it head on but definitely there if you angle it right.  Some ringwear.  Inside gatefold has a light stain.  See pic. Inside gatefold (if lizard) has separated from back cover up top and below for a few inches.  No splits (except for just mentioned gatefold issue) but wear is getting close.

I am listening to this as I type.  Again, wonderful Doors mono experience of an incredibly rare album. 

Grading scale:

SEALED:  Just that.  I will say if cover has any markings or ringwear, etc., but assume a sealed record will play AS NEW.

NM: Shiny.  No visible defects.  Nearly perfect.  Clean label.  Looks like it was just opened fresh from the record store when bought new. Plays as if bought new.

VG+/E (E being the high end, more like a NM-):  As goldmine says, "except for a couple of minor things, this would be near mint".  Light signs of wear, including light scuffs or scratches that do no affect the listening experience.  Slight warps that do not affect the listening experience are also o.k.  (this is straight from Goldmine).  Minor signs of handling ok, such as marks around center hole, but not misshapen the hole from repeated playing.  If playgrade, very occasional minor surface noise that does not effect play.  No loud pops or hisses, to be sure.  Again, "except for a few minor things..."  Cover can have very minor seam wear or split (less than one inch) at the bottom.  Possible defacing, like a cut-out marking.

VG:  Lack most of original gloss.  Groove wear can be seen.  Light scratches deep enough to feel with fingernail.  Surface noise and some scratches may be audible such as in soft parts.  Noise will not overpower music.  Small amount of writing, tape or sticker on label.  Covers will have wear such as ringwear (not overwhelming, though). Seam splitting more obvious, such as on all three sides, but won't see it right away when looking for first time.  Price tag or writing on cover or back. 

G:  I will not sell a G or less record unless it is very rare and I will do a full write-up on it, if so.  I will sell G covers and I will explain why I give it a G per each auction

I meant to state that a visual inspection of the LP is a VG but that I feel it plays better than that.  Also, by crackles I do mean some tics/light pop in in synch with some revolutions, and some of these last multiple revs. I wanted to clarify what I meant by crackles.  Again, not too loud but they are there during some tracks.  Definitely no skips.
