For the first 17 years of their history, the only official live Doors album was Absolutely Live, which had its virtues -- especially as it captured elements of their harder, more ambitious repertoire -- but also left more casual fans rather cold, owing to the absence of any of their biggest hits. Alive, She Cried helped solve that problem, including as it did a concert version of "Light My Fire" and also adding a legendary concert piece -- their rendition of Van Morrison's mid-'60s Them-era classic "Gloria" -- to the Doors' official Elektra Records discography. The release was extremely popular but it also revealed the reason why "Light My Fire" had not made it onto the prior live album, which was principally a matter of Jim Morrison's boredom with a song not his own that he'd performed too many times by 1970, and also owing to the fact that the band had done about 90 percent of everything they were going to do with the song in its original album version; Morrison is at his most inspired and involved on the "Graveyard Poem" that he interjects during the break, and everything else is an elaboration of the extended jam originally heard on the studio recording

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL  AS  NEAR MINT. Some VERY LIGHT AND SUPERFICIAL abrasions – mostly sleeve scuffs -  are (barely) visible, but are probably inaudible,  and do not affect visual integrity or beauty of the vinyl. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)          The record comes in its original, custom, inner sleeve, which is UNIQUE to this album.

(c)           The record is apparently pressed on a RELATIVELY  thick, inflexible vinyl. This is NOT a thin, flimsy ('dynaflex' type),  vinyl, but not the thickest, most rigid vinyl either.

(d)          White Promo Label version of this title is much rarer that a regular, commercially released, version of this title. We estimate that stock copies of this album outnumber promo copies by a ratio of at least 20:1.

(e)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

-         Cover has JUST A HINT of ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 2.

-        Cover has a few tiny wrinkles along the spine   (VISIBLE ON BACK SIDE ONLY)

-         Minor shelf wear noted on the seams (nothing significant)
