Ultra rare Monophonic copy of The Doors' debut album pressed at the Monarch pressing plant in Los Angeles. Very early 1st pressing with Ray Hagerty's signature in the dead wax on both sides. 1st print gold Elektra EKL-4007 labels with the original Monarch "Mono" banner in a bold font and very early 1st pressing "Witmark (ASCAP)" publishing credits for Alabama Song (Whisky Bar) on Side 1. Original labels with a misprint on Side 1, indicating "Break On Through (To the Oher Side)" instead of "Break On Through (To the Other Side)". Original 1st print Mono cover with a catalog number EKL-4007 remains in the original shrink wrap. As a rule, the majority of the very early pressing copies came with the Elektra Records inner sleeve with the "2 Dean Street, London, W.1" address, and only the earliest "First Day" pressings, including the one listed, came with the Elektra Records inner sleeve with the "7 Poland Street, London W.1, England" address. This copy includes an original fold-out Elektra Records '66 catalog.

The trail-off vinyl contains all of the identifiers of a Monarch pressing, including a "MR" stamped inside a circle on both sides. The full matrix numbers are: Side 1 - EKL-4007A (MON) MR in Circle Delta 10046 Ray Hagerty's Signature; Side 2 - EKL - 4007B (MON) MR in Circle Delta 10046-X Ray Hagerty's Signature. The cover is in Near Mint Minus condition with the shrink wrap having some light shelf wear and scuffing. (Please note that the scuffs seen in the photos are on the shrink wrap and not on the cover itself) The vinyl, which contains some light non-feelable surface hairlines and scuffs from the inner sleeve, is somewhere between Strong Very Good Plus and Excellent Minus as it has preserved its beautiful factory gloss and lustre. The Elektra 66' catalog is in Mint condition. The Elektra Records inner sleeve with the "7 Poland" address is in Excellent condition.
