Description
Up for auction is one of the hardest to find jazz recordings, a private pressing out of the MICHIGAN area, recorded in 1976 at SUPER DISC SOUND STUDIO DETROIT, the city of the TRIBE-family, on the small MIDNITE RECORDS-label, entitled:
THE HASTINGS STREET JAZZ EXPERIENCE by THE DETROIT JAZZ COMPOSERS ORCHESTRA Ltd!
The DETROIT JAZZ COMPOSERS is a huge progressive band from DETROIT in a modernist self-determining stance, playing in an exciting post-Coltrane, post-Bop-style: this 70´s Motor City extravaganza with a virtual "who is who" of Detroit´s greatest jazz-players in attendance, and great KIM WESTON providing vocals, combines hard-swinging Clarke-Boland-ish vibes and funky-spiritual grooves à la Marcus Belgrave to an amazing mixture of great organic ensemble jazz with a spiritually Strata East-edge to it!
This is NOT free jazz or totally "out-stuff": this one grooves along ...!

CONDITION OF JACKET: excellent (minor wear to seams & corners, a bit of shelf wear)
CONDITION OF WAX: near mint- (minor scuffing, minimal play wear) On the whole this disc displays in very nice shape and sounds great without any significant detraction from the listening experience - simply wonderful!
**Permit me to say it once again:
This record is a real hard find, which shows up once in a decade: it has sold on eBay for big bucks in the past (Pls check popsike.com for auction results)!
I had to list this "jewel" with a reasonable high reserve! Try to find another copy - you will not succeed!
Any serious collector of top rarities & private pressings should not miss out on this!
Thanks for looking and good luck!
