THE DAMNED – Machine Gun Etiquette

Ace Records Ltd. | DAM 2 | 1986 UK Issue | Pressed in Germany (DMM)


A clean, well-preserved copy of the 1986 Ace Records UK pressing of Machine Gun Etiquette — not the original 1979 Chiswick CWK 3011, but the desirable mid-80s Ace issue cut using Direct Metal Mastering and manufactured in Germany. Widely considered a strong-sounding pressing and a solid collector copy in its own right.

Label: Ace Records Ltd., London — black & silver Damned skull labels

Catalogue: DAM 2

Sleeve: Original Ace UK layout — red circular "Machine Gun Etiquette" badge, yellow rear strip

Inner: Original Ace illustrated comic inner sleeve, intact

Vinyl: German-manufactured, DMM cut

Matrices (hand / machine stamped):

Side A: 020 B-0921-A-1 | Side B: 020 B-0921-B-1

"Made in Germany" noted in deadwax


Condition:


Sleeve [VG+] — good gloss retained; light edge wear; minor corner bumps; clean spine; very minor stress cracking at opening — no splits.


Vinyl [VG+] — light sleeve scuffs visible under strong raking light; no deep scratches; pressing is very flat.

Will benefit from a professional clean before first play, though playback is already crisp with no noticeable pops. Tested on a budget turntable with a light-tracking tonearm to surface any hidden issues — none found.


Labels — clean; no writing; light spindle marks only.

Inner — original Ace comic sleeve present and intact.


Postage & packaging:

Shipped in a stiff card mailer with a dedicated record jacket mailer. Vinyl protected in a fresh poly sleeve.
