Description

Canadian pressing of The Cure's 1984 album The Top AUTOGRAPHED by Bob and Lol!!!  Vinyl is in NM condition, sleeve has minimal wear. Includes lyric sheet.  A strange, transitional album from the "band", essentially just Robert and Laurence in the studio with various session players. This album marks the point where The Cure began moving away from the more "gothic" somber tendencies of previous albums like Faith and Pornography and into poppier territory. A druggy, paranoid-sounding album where the duo began experimenting with different textures and instrumentation, clearly influenced by Robert's concurrent work with Siouxsie. Far from the band's best work, but interesting and essential to any deep Cure fan. The autographs appear authentic after researching other examples of both members' signatures. Had to be signed at the time of release/tour, because Lol Tolhurst left the band soon after.  A very cool piece of Alternative Rock history!  Bid with confidence!
