Up for bid is a copy of the rare funk/soul LP from 1976 from The Cult, "The Mail Must Go Through". It is on Starburst Records (catalog number SLT 500). In addition to being difficult to come by in any condition, it is also one of the best private/underground funk and soul sides cut on the West Coast in the 1970s.
This is the very first pressing, as indicated by label logo, date and most importantly, the cover, which features a nude mail woman on front and back of the sleeve. Later represses had a fully clothed man on a horse.
Sleeve is still in shrink, vinyl has been visually inspected and there are no scuffs, marks or scratches. Very nice luster and shine. Play tested perfect. I believe that this record has been played only a handful of times since being acquired in 1976 here in Las Vegas.
Only slight shelf and storage wear appears on the label and the vinyl due to it being stored for nearly 40 years. Two very small, light areas of wear on the front sleeve opening, again due to shelfwear. Minor in appearance and effect.
The music is as close to mint as you can get. Excellent throughout. No splits, rips, promo marks, drill holes or saw cut marks on sleeve.
