"First I Look At the Purse" is a 1965 song recorded by R&B group The Contours on Motown Records' label. It was written by Miracles members Smokey Robinson and Bobby Rogers, the authors of the Temptations' very first hit single, "The Way You Do the Things You Do". This song reached No 57 on the Billboard Hot 100, and the Top 20 on Billboard's R&B chart, peaking at No12.
Side 1 matrix and stampers, TMG 531 A-1 & 1 G. Side 2 matrix and stampers TMG 531 B-1 & 1 G.
Both record labels and both sides of the Demo are in superb Excellent Plus condition with nothing more than a few light hairlines, and plays with a clear sound quality on both tracks, just perfect.
