Description

This is an 50's R&B classic 45 by The Coasters of "Down In Mexico/Turtle Dovin' " on Atco Records 6064, Maroon label/1st Press; issued in 1956.

The sad passing of Carl Gardner, lead vocalist of The Coasters on June 12, 2011. One of the greatest R&B groups from the 50's & 60's.

This was their 1st Atco single as The Coasters; previously as the Robins.

It charted #8 on the Billboard R&B Singles charts.

2  great sides on this 1st Press/Maroon label; both written by Jerry Lieber & Mike Stoller.

VG++ condition, with a few light scuffs & scratches; some writing on the label on both sides. Plays VG+++.
