The Clovers' debut album was among the earliest LPs issued by Atlantic Records, appearing the same year as the Drifters' debut long-player and, like that platter, assembled from existing singles. Originally titled "Rock and Roll", it was repackaged the following year as The Clovers. This is an amazingly consistent album, considering that its material was assembled from sessions spread across more than five years, almost as many different lineups, and two lead singers, Buddy Bailey and Charlie White, as well as varying quartet and quintet (and even sextet) lineups of the group. The spread of songs and styles is enjoyable, however, and very much representative of the Clovers' sound, from surprisingly subtle sexual odes ("Middle of the Night"), to raunchy rhythm numbers ("Hey Miss Fanny"), ballads both achingly romantic ("Devil or Angel"), and upbeat ("Lovey Dovey"), and pounding laments ("Little Mama," "I Got My Eyes on You"), and encompassing early-'50s R&B, and its poppier, more upbeat, mid- to late successor ("Love Love Love"), from the middle of the decade. "One Mint Julep" is nowhere in sight, but this is still a great record with a killer array of 14 songs. The cover, featuring the six-man lineup of the group, is also pretty cool.

- Internationally, our flat shipping rate is $26 for First Class International. For Priority Int’l, please request an invoice.
- All domestic packages are tracked. Ask us if you would like the tracking number.
- We'll combine shipping costs on multiple wins (or store purchases) to save money for the buyer.
- The automatically generated invoice provided by eBay for multiple items doesn't understand combined shipping (it just adds the individual costs together), but we'll issue a proper invoice with the reduced shipping within 16 hours.
- If you have specific shipping instructions, we will be glad to follow them. Let us know upon purchase. We are professionals and pack with extreme care. However, we know some customers may have specific requirements for how their items are to be packed. Please confirm any such packing requests with us before bidding to be sure we can accomodate you. Different packing materials have different weights, so if for example you want a box for an item we might normally ship in a bubble mailer, the shipping cost will probably change.
- Massachusetts residents must pay sales tax because we are a Massachusetts business.
- Import duties, taxes, and charges on international orders are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying.
