British punk pioneers The Clash released their fifth album in 1982. Yet another great LP that is turning FORTY next year, here in the States. But the original UK release was FORTY years ago, in 1981! The band became MTV darlings, as the two hit songs had videos in heavy rotation ("Rock the Casbah", and "Should I Stay or Should I Go"). The album sold a few million copies worldwide, and thrust the band into international fame and fortune! That was also the beginning of punk rock becoming commercial...
The album had a special, camouflage colored album release, that was a promotional item. In other words, it never saw the inside of record stores! Given to radio and club DJs to help promote the album, it quickly became a hot and highly sought-after collector's item! These always go for big bucks. There are no other copies on Ebay right now, and another record selling site has the cheapest copy going for $100! But none of that outlandish price gouging here! Grab this mega rare collectible, and at a sweet price!!
But wait! There's more!! Lol I'll also throw in a copy of the 12" single release by The Clash, for the song "Rock the Casbah", in a very cool picture sleeve! It's the same picture sleeve as the 7", just bigger! That song is the A side track, and a special unreleased track is on the B side ("Mustapha Dance"), which is a mostly instrumental version of "Rock the Casbah"!
The camo LP looks great, with only one or two really light surface marks that I can see! Nothing bad, and hardly noticeable. This comes in its original clear PVC jacket with hype sticker. The 12" single also has a few very light surface marks, but again, nothing bad, and hardly noticable! Show your love for The Clash, who helped put punk on the map, with bands like The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, and so many others!
