DESCRIPTION
The Champs - “Go Champs Go!” Challenge Records CHL 601 (Mono) from 1958. Classic Garage Rock Album from The Champs featuring the all time hit “Tequila". Mega Rare Original Blue Vinyl pressing - supposedly the 74th rarest record in the world - not sure about that but you certainly don’t see one everyday… or every lifetime! On the Original First Pressing Dual-Colored Ying/Yang Challenge label which reads “Go Champ Go".
CONDITION
The Sleeve shows some slight basic ring and edge shelf wear. There is a small catalog sticker - probably easily removable - in the upper left corner. There is some slight corner softening. There is an about 2-1/2” light crease on the right near the opening edge. There is a 1” or so piece of celo tape right in the center of the bottom seam - I think just to cover some wear as it does not look to be split. The top seam has a 6” piece of celo tape from the opening edge to the middle - I think that this seam probably was partly split but you can’t really tell nor can you see the tape unless you are looking for it. Beyond that, very solid with no stains, tears, writing, etc. and I would rate it as a VG. The Blue Vinyl itself is also what I would call VG condition i.e. a pretty good old record. The vinyl still retains lots of gloss but has overall light scuffs and hairlines - nothing that can be felt with a fingernail or deep enough to actually be called a scratch. Plays very nicely with some groove noise and maybe a couple tics here and there but nothing that interferes with the enjoyment of the music. Really quite nice! There seems to be a very slight warp at the outer edge that you can’t really see but causes a light thump during the lead in groove play but does not affect the music. The labels have several light spindle trails but are otherwise Near Mint.

TERMS AND DEFINITIONS
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
