THE CARNIVAL “Hi Ho Silver Lining/I'm Going Home Tomorrow” orig Canadian pop/psych!
1968/Cdn/Columbia 2816….here’s a clean original pressing of their first of three singles. Excellent Canadian pop psych. The record is in Excellent condition with no more than a handful of super light inaudible hairlines/scuffs. The labels are clean with no writing or other damage. Includes the original Columbia sleeve which has a small number written at the top on one side, otherwise fine with no splits. A great copy for your collection! Hallman and Oberle were from Waterloo while Pellow, Brownscombe, and Wells were from Woodstock. In 1968, out of the ashes of The Flying Dutchman Drum And Bugle Corp., the band settled in Kitchener-Waterloo as The Trendsetters.
Hallman, stayed in high school making the band a four-piece. That year they played on CTV's 'After 4' show in Toronto. Theey would do five of these appearances and from that show won the audition for 'It's Happening' starring Robbie Lane to replace his backing band The Disciples.
The producer of the TV show, Mike Steele, wanted five bodies on the stage, so Tim Hallman got the call and walked straight into a national TV contract. The production, a 26 week run, was standard for its day . The Carnival taped at CFTO Studios on 13 alternating Fridays (two shows per session).
By this time the band lived in Don Mills, Ontario and pre-recorded the backing music at Chelsea Sound on Mount Pleasant Ave. in Toronto - a four-track facility - where it was necessary to pre-record between 18-20 tracks every two weeks as backing tracks for feature artists as a means of keeping up with the pace of the show.
The performances on the show featured Robbie Lane singing live while the band, now calling themselves The Carnival, lip-synced - vocally and instrumentally. On occasion the band became a 'featured act' on the show.
The young band got to meet, among others, Andy Kim, Eddie Floyd ("Knock On Wood"), and Grant Smith (minus his band The Power). They were working towards releasing an album (tentatively titled 'Keil Heil Kelly') but split up before it could be completed.

MINT: as stated with no defects
M- OR NEAR MINT: as stated near Mint!, or Mint Minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean
EXCELLENT: not much below near Mint, may have a delete hole and/or a minor defect or two not visually detracting from the cover, the vinyl will appear shiny and in clean condition with very minor defects not affecting the sound, still very clean and very collectable!
VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear and/or delete/splits, still visually appealing, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much
VG+ a little more cover/ring wear and delete, splits etc., the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects, both cover and vinyl no matter the condition, I also play grade the records on high end equipment and will give an honest play grade as well as visual grade, considering the number of records I buy on line my grading is very conservative and fair.
AIR POSTAGE TO USA IS $10 ...OR $8 SURFACE IF THE PACKAGE WEIGHS LESS THAN 500 GRAMS(one regular weight pressing).........USA AIR POSTAGE FROM 500 GRAMS TO 1 KILO IS $15 AND SURFACE MAIL IS $12(usually 1-3 lp’s depending on individual weight)

INTERNATIONAL AIR POSTAGE(depending on destination) UNDER 500 grams is $17 to $21(one regular weight lp), OVER 500 grams UP TO 1000g is $30 to $36(usually up to 3 lp’s depending on individual weight), INTERNATIONAL AIR POSTAGE BETWEEN 1000g AND 2000g (usually between 3 and 6 lp’s depending on individual weight) is $49 to $55.
IN CANADA..postage is $10 for 1-8 lp’s fully insured with tracking.
