THE BUNCH ‘ROCK ON’ AN ORIGINAL 1972 ISLAND RECORDS LP & RARE 7” FLEXI DISC SINGLE ON THE ISLAND RECORD LABELS, CATALOGUE NUMBER FOR THE LP ILPS 9189, AND FOR THE FLEXI DISC SINGLE W1 4002.
Rock On is a 1972 one-off album of oldies covers by the Bunch, a group of English folk rock singers and musicians. The Bunch got together in late 1971 to record their one and only album, Rock On. This album consisted of covers of the band’s favourite songs by Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, and The Everly Brothers, among others. Among the Bunch were members of Fairport Convention and others, including Sandy Denny, Richard Thompson, Linda Thompson (credited as Linda Peters), Pat Donaldson, Ashley Hutchings, Gerry Conway, and Dave Mattacks.
Fledg'ling Records reissued the album on compact disc in 2003. The CD reissue now appears to be out of print.
This is a beautiful example of this rare and very obscure1972 Album.
Both record labels are in outstanding immaculate Mint condition, bright, clean and undamaged new looking record labels.
Side 1 matrix lettering are ILPS 9189 A and Side 2: ILPS 9189 B.
Both sides of this Beautiful Heavyweight vinyl disc are in outstanding as new Mint condition, just superb vinyl surfaces to both sides, in day of release condition.
The album plays perfect throughout all tracks, a fantastic Musical content.
The rare 7” Flexi Disc is in as new Mint day of release condition.
The LP comes in Poly Lined Made in England Inner Bag which is an Excellent example, NO handwriting or tearing, and NO seam splits to any of the edges, just creases.
And is housed in its original Issue Glossy fully laminated Picture Sleeve.
The Picture sleeve is a also a beautiful superb example, clean and bright, and undamaged in amazing day of issue Mint condition. The sleeve is firm, clean, free from any damage. All edges and the spine edge are perfect.
The reverse panel of this sleeve is as new, and shows the artistes that feature on the album.
A simply beautiful as new example of this rare and very obscure Island Records Album..
