THE BREAKAWAYS – All For One. Break-A-Way Records BREAK 049. German release. NEW UNPLAYED VINYL RECORD ALBUM. Originally recorded and issued 1965-1967. This 17-track compilation issued in 2016 comprising tracks from their two albums and singles; all tracks remastered from the original analog tapes and limited to a press run of just 300 copies. Includes full size The front cover art reproduces the original debut album cover, except replacing the original title, Let’s Take A Sea Cruise, with the above title in a similar type style to the original. MEMBERS:  Bari Gordon (lead guitar) later replaced by Dave Hurley (lead guitar), Keith “Midge” Marsden (rhythm guitar), Dave Orams (bass), and Bryan Beauchamp (vocals, drums) with Doug Thomas (drums) replacing Bryan near the end of recording their second album. TRACKS:  Baby Please Don’t Go, Women (Make You Feel Alright), Ain’t Got You, Rosalyn, Come See Me, Farmer John, Talking About You, Milk Cow Blues, All For One, Richard Cory, A Travelled Man, Tough Enough, Despair, Sea Cruise, Perhaps I’ll Settle Down, Old Man Mose, and Baby Please Don’t Go (live 2007 reunion track courtesy of Radio New Zealand). DESCRIPTION:  Down under big beat blasts from this essential kiwi group from 1965 to 1967! The Breakaways broke out of the Taranaki region of New Zealand's North Island  in 1965 and went to Wellington, the capital city, to sign with HMV Records NZ. Their records catapulted them to nationwide fame via teen TV shows, six 45s, and two LPs. Having had already two big New Zealand hits, The Breakaways were en route to Taranaki with a rare night off when they realised The Pretty Things – in the middle of the controversial New Zealand tour – would be playing that evening in Whanganui. Experiencing up close the raw excitement of The Pretty Things consolidated their move away from pop and towards rhythm and blues. The band’s best recordings are collected here for the first time in nearly 50 years on vinyl. Fuzzy R&B! Blistering garage blasts! Dangerous interpretations of the Easybeats' Women and a hero worshipping Rosalyn. Untamed renditions of Milk Cow Blues, Ain’t Got You, Come See Me, and Baby Please Don’t Go from their second and unbelievably rare Album Two are the centre-points of this collection alongside a number of cool group originals. All tracks from master tape supervised by band member Keith ‘Midge’ Marsden. The LP is presented with the front cover of their 1966 debut album and an LP sized insert with band history, rare photos, and input from original band members.

All LPs are removed from their jackets and placed outside of the jacket for shipping. If an album comes sealed (and will be noted as such in the above description), it will be shipped whole unless you request that I open it up to place the disc outside of the jacket for shipping. Both jacket and disc are placed inside of an outer plastic sleeve before packing for shipping. I use professional corrugated record mailers.

RETURN POLICY:

Please e-mail me with specific details and I will get back to you with your options. I ask that if there is a problem with the item that you contact me as soon as possible after receiving it. Any item that must be returned is done so at the buyer’s expense. Any refund, exchange, or substitution/credit will be at the buyer’s choice, but not made until the original item is received back by me; in the condition as stated in the item description. 

NON-ARRIVAL OF PACKAGES:

US Customers:  Please wait at least two weeks from my confirmed shipping date before contacting me about the non-arrival of your package. All packages are shipped with confirmation/tracking, you will received an automatically generated shipping notice from Ebay e-mail with your tracking number. It has been several years since I’ve had a package not make its US destination, so risk is minimal.

INTERNATIONAL Customers:  Please wait at least 3 weeks from my confirmed shipping date before contacting me about the non-arrival of your package. If security is your concern please have your package registered (see above for fee). I do my best to quickly post packages, but once the package is in the hands of the world’s postal system it is beyond my control. With First-Class Package International Service my only option for investigating the loss of your package is to verify that it left this country to its destination country. Most all delayed/lost packages have disappeared/been delayed after they have reached their destination country. NOTE:  Based on recent buyer feedback, International packages have been moving much slower these days; it is not unusual for a package to take over three weeks for delivery, though normally packages should arrive in 7 to 15 business days.
