The Birds, The Bees & THE MONKEES 1968 LP U.S. MONO

 

 

Colgems COM-109 orange label, logo in white at top, MONO in black print at bottom, deep groove in label, rigid vinyl

Extremely rare 1968 true mono U.S. pressing, with noticeably better mixes than the stereo issue!

 

 

Jacket has a small name in marker at the top right of the back cover, ringwear, general wear, VG

 

Side 1 is VG, there are some short scratches that sound (most noticeably in track 1), music otherwise comes through loud and undistorted, and overall is still quite enjoyable.

Side 2 is GOOD, there is a large portion (about the same size as the record label) of discoloration/damage to the vinyl. This portion shows obvious grayness, with many tiny elevations/bumps. Perhaps caused by exposure to the elements or chemicals…though Side 1 is NOT  effected. While this sounds on Side 2 as an obvious  background “swish” of varying degrees throughout the side, the music is once again otherwise loud and undistorted, and the bumps are not that distracting when they are audible.  Still enjoyable.
