The Beatles
"Yesterday...and Today"
1966 3rd State 'Butcher' Cover
VG+ (sleeve)/VG (record)
The front cover itself is very clean and is a great example of a properly done peel job. There are hardly any issues to detract from the the overall excellent presentation of this rare, controversial and collectible cover. The top left corner has a very small area of paper missing near the Capitol logo but that's about it! The title spine and both top and bottom spines are 100% intact which--again--is a rarity for this LP. As you can see, there is some writing and minor discoloration from tape residue on the back cover--but you aren't going to display the back cover now...are you? Overall this is a very displayable original Butcher with no tears down to the cardboard or major issues to detract from the cover like so many others that are offered for sale here. The LP is a matching West Coast variation (with serif numerals) in VG condition with lots of light marks but no deep scratches and MINT labels.
Peeled Butcher covers remain the most collectible Beatles LPs in existence and nicely peeled copies like this one are becoming increasingly rare. Don't miss your chance to own a really nice Butcher package with recall letter, LP and original sleeve!Shipping is $14 to anywhere in the US and includes careful packing (in an appropriate LP mailer with cardboard inserts for protection) and insurance. The LP also comes in a Japanese resealable sleeve.
