Unusually the "KT" tax code is embossed on one side.

I bought a large Beatles collection in 1993 from the collector's widow.
It was not tampered with in any way and this EP is just how I found it.
The KT tax code ended in January 1969 and the EMI rim code started in 1970.
The fact that the tax code is raised or EMBOSSED is very interesting as it means the ORIGINAL mothers and stampers were used.
I can only assume that it is a VERY EARLY 1970 PRESSING which used an undepleted stock of FIRST PRESSING SLEEVES, the ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING mothers ans stampers. and the new EMI PRESSING LABELS.

Whatever the story it IS an unusual oddity - with a STUNNING FIRST PRESSING SLEEVE !!

ORIGINAL FRONT LAMINATED SLEEVE GRADED EXCELLENT MINUS WITH NO EDGE WEAR AND ONLY MINUTE CORNER WEAR.
This original sleeve is in GREAT condition given that it is was never issued fully laminated and has NO rips, tears, seam splits, stains, scribble, stickers or sellotape damage.
Flat bright and clean with nice edges and beautiful spine and NO feathering at the opening.
NO defects at all.
