Original 100% authentic 1st West Coast, Los Angeles, Hollywood pressing plant release 2nd State Paste-Over Monaural “Butcher Cover”. The paste-over “Trunk” slick with a vivid beautifully preserved print contains a perfectly visible Ringo’s sweater “V” neck along with the texture of the Butcher cover underneath. The slick is so clear that one can even slightly see Ringo’s Head, above the “V” neck, and his black pants at the bottom of the right corner under a strong light source.. It's extremely hard to find a copy of the 2nd State Monaural Butcher Cover in such a great clean condition. The back cover contains a RIAA 6 factory designator at the bottom right corner, identifying this very early copy as a Los Angeles, Hollywood pressing plant issue. This copy has the original Capitol Records T-2553 Mono catalog number black label with a multicolored spectrum ("Rainbow") band along the label's edge without the "subsidiary" print. 1st US Mono issue thick glossy vinyl pressing with the stamped 1st matrix numbers in the trail-off vinyl: Side 1 - T1-2553-F3 / Side 2 - T2 - 2553 - F1. The listing includes the vintage scan copies of Capitol Records original documents, relating to the Butcher artwork situation and its controversy, a Capitol memo from Joe Sobeck, Capitol’s distribution manager in Boston, describing in all of the details the destruction of the original 1st State Butcher Covers (dated June 28, 1966), a letter from Capitol Records’ press and information services manager Ron Tepper that was sent to record reviewers (dated June 14, 1966) and finally, a newspaper clipping from The Boston Globe with the headline “Beatles Make $250,000 Goof”, which describes the recall of the controversial Butcher covers and how Brian Epstein, the manager of The Beatles submitted the original artwork to Capitol Records (dated June 25, 1966). The album comes with an original Capitol Records gold "CAPITOL'66; SOUNDS GREAT!" inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

COVER: EXCELLENT (EX) Super clean cover. Only a very light barely noticeable hint of ring wear at the top and bottom of the front cover. The paste over "Trunk" slick retains its original vintage white color and doesn't have any scuffs or missing pieces. The back cover contains a couple of barely noticeable scuffing spots along with some very light ring wear, which is probably not even worth mentioning. The spine contains a light hint of splitting at the bottom. Some very light corner wear.

VINYL: VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) The glossy vinyl has some very light surface hairlines and scuffs from the inner sleeve.

LABELS: NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) Very clean scuff-free labels.

Realizing how important it is to secure the safety of the item you've paid your money for, I'll put my best effort into packing the records as best as possible, triple boxing them into the specialized professional boxes, with the two outer boxes having a special construction with extended cardboard on the edges to prevent the record covers' corners from getting damaged during the transit, and will also put the vinyl outside of the cover (of course, unless it's a sealed record) to prevent the splitting. I always try responding to the messages, but please, before sending me a message, make sure that the answer to your question isn't included in the description. I'll use my right to block a buyer, who doesn't correspond to my idea of politeness, culture and respect toward each other.
