Country of Origin: USA Year of Release: 1966 Record Condition: VG+ Cover Condition: VG- Comments:Megarare original 1966 infamous BEATLES "Butcher Sleeve" MONO LP!
Record is in still very good Condition with many very fine Hairlines, some light Scuffing as well as some expected light general Agewear discernable. Vinyl is still very shiny.
Labels are in near Mint Condition.
Original LP Cover is what it is, a peeled Butcher Sleeve with some often experienced little Papertears on Cover (due to Removal of original glued on Cover).
To many this is the Holy Grail of BEATLES Vinyl Rarities!
The Butcher Sleeve was a failed Attempt by THE BEATLES to create a arty Album Cover and all it did was earn them Infamy and Notoriety and the Album was after 2 Weeks quickly withdrawn from Sale making it one of the most desired BEATLES Artefacts.
Butcher Sleeves come in various Presentation, an original unpeeled State, a very clean peeled Cover and some lesser peeled Covers of which this is sitting somewhere in between.
As you can see from the Scan, there are some obvious little Papertears, due to the Removal of the original Slick that was pasted over the Top.
On the Bottom of the Spine is a little invisible Tape Repair. There is also some light agestaining and a small Name written on the Back Cover.
On the Back Cover, in the Bottom right Corner is the Number 6 next to the RIAA Logo.
Number 6 Copies are known to be amongst the hardest to peel Covers and of these, this is one of the better Ones I have come across over the Years!
What is unavoidably obvious though, this is an authentic original Copy of the (in)famous Butcher Sleeve and over my Lifetime I ever only have come across 3 Copies that I held in my own Hands of which this is the third!
So it's not a Record that I will likely ever be able to offer for Sale again (unless I'm extremely lucky to ever pick another Copy up from somewhere???)!
Despite the obvious little Blemish on the Cover, still a much desired Mega-Rarity sought after by every serious fair Dinkum BEATLES Collector!
