No, records are also play grade. There are crackle's throughout but that does not over power any of the songs. A SIDE: Song 1 There is 1 minor skip at the start of the song, Song 2 just crackle, Song 3 crackle, Song 4 Plays fine, Song 5 Plays fine, Song 6 Plays fine. B SIDE: Song 1 Crackles no skips etc, Song 2 Light background crackles, Song 3 Light Crackles, Song 4 Plays with light crackles, Song 5 Light crackles, Song 6 Light crackles, Song 7 Light crackles.
Overall its plays very well, better than it does look.
