1969 1st MONO PRESSING 1 M/ 1 O STAMPERS AND LABEL PRINTED OFF CENTRE
A particularly rare 1st issue here having being pressed within the first thousand ever made ( 4th and 5th stamper from the 1st mother) and in the rarer Mono format at the time. The side 1 label has also been pressed on slightly off-centre which is a very rare anomaly.
The sleeve is the very 1st issue version having two red lines on the rear panel and is sought after in itself. The edges are neat and the spine is fully intact. There is a long laminate split line which goes straight across the front from spine to opening edge. It still grades around Very Good as despite its faults it retains its structural integrity, there is no writing, and Is clean with all components sound and fold-overs still well adhered and intact.
The inner sleeve is the correct first issue one - a plain black inner with only one window aperture as to be found like on the early White Album's from the same year. It has no tears or rips along the edges and is fully intact besides a little scuffing on top edge and a little around the centre circle aperture. very rare to find in such nice condition.
The vinyl itself is actually very respectable and better than most 1st issues which come up for sale. I grade this as strong Very Good Plus. There are a few light marks/ hairlines but nothing at all which would constitute a troublesome blemish. No needle drops, scratches, warping or groove wear, and nothing at all feel-able. It retains a mirror-like jet black glossy pressing sheen and lies perfectly flat on the turntable and is for the most part very nice.
The labels I also grade as a strong Very Good Plus as all colouration has held well, there are no spindle line traces immediately obvious, and only a little spindle wear around the Side 1 spindle point. No writing or scuffs etc.
The audio is astounding. It plays clearly and lucidly all of the way through with very very little audible detractions. I only detected a few static-type tics but certainly nothing overpowering. A few of the track change grooves have a couple of more noticeable tics, but I'm confident it won't cause disappointment. The is no background interference (or very little discernible), certainly no pops, or skips, or sticks etc. I would grade as Excellent, and is great to hear such depth to the bass from such an early iteration.

The record will be extremely well protected using a professional LP mailer with a stiffener, and I add extra outer padding for overseas orders.
The vinyl will be removed from the original inner sleeve, placed in a new generic one and placed next to the main sleeve and will all be housed in a best on the market thumb-weld glass sleeve.
