The Beatles sound best on UK EMI pressed vinyl with the correct track listings. The records are far superior to the shiny, digital, remastered tosh that is now being pressed on new vinyl issues. As soon as you hear an early UK pressing cut and mastered the original way in analogue, your ears will smile and your CDs and digital vinyl copies will become the frisbees that they are only fit to be. The pre-digital UK pressings have more immediacy, presence and dynamics. The sound staging is wider and subtle instrument nuances are better placed with more spacious textures. Balances are firmer in the bottom end with a far-tighter bass. Upper-mid ranges shine without harshness, and the overall depth is more immersive, with inner details more clearer. On first and early pressings, the music tends to sound more ‘alive’ and vibrant. .
