This is a UK 1st press of the 'White Album' by The Beatles. This press has the top opening sleeve, dark green Apple labels, ''Sold In The UK' label text, 'Mfd In UK' on all labels, black inner sleeves, all four photographs and the lyric poster. The records have the earliest 1/1/1/1 matrix and the original wonderful heavy vinyl. It has the 1st press poster and postcards, not glossy light paper reissues.
The records are in Very Good condition. The vinyl on each side has a high gloss, with a few very light marks on each side. On playing the sound is warm, vibrant and clear. There are a few moments of brief background noise, but they still sound great. The dark green Apple labels are completely clean. The green is bold and the white is bright. The black text is sharp and there is only the slightest spindle wear. The records are complete with their original black inner sleeves. There is some wear to the opening edges and the centres, otherwise there are bright and clean.
The 1st press four photographs are in Excellent condition. The colours are bright and they all have their original just pressed sheen.
The 1st press matt double sided poster is in Very Good condition. The colours are bold and the white is still bright. The folds are delicate with a couple of splits and folds and some areas of discolouration but the whole poster still feels solid.
The Garrod & Lofthouse top opening laminated sleeve is in Excellent condition. The laminate has an amazing high gloss and it is completely clean. The white has only slight discolouration, it is still exceptionally bright and the Beatles embossed text are sharp and entirely unworn. There are a couple of laminate creases, a little corner wear and a little wear to the opening edge. On opening the cover still has the wonderful firm laminate creak. The inside images and text are bright and clear. The flipbacks are sealed and complete. The whole sleeve is still lovely and solid and the spine is firm.
