Description
THE BEATLES: THE BEATLES a.k.a. "THE WHITE ALBUM" 1968 1st UK MONO PRESSING ON APPLE Cat No. PMC 7067/8
Rare 1st UK Mono copy with top loading embossed gatefold cover, black inner sleeves, poster and 4 colour photo prints. This early pressing is missing the EMI text on the labels. These were produced in small numbers before the error was spotted. It was corrected on subsequent pressings.
Stamped number #0165603. A great playing original copy of this classic album.
99p auction start - no reserve.
CONDITION OF VINYL The vinyl has retained much of its original lustre and has clearly not been heavily played. Although it has some fine lines and marks there is nothing of a really serious nature. All 4 sides play very well with no skips or sticking, with just the occasional isolated instance of surface noise or faint ticks audible in quiet sections or between tracks. You will see from the close-up photos that the labels on side 1 and side 3 have the initials "M.G." written quite small in pen. Overall vinyl grade is VG+.
CONDITION OF SLEEVE The outer gatefold cover is showing its age somewhat. Please see the close-up photos. It has some discolouration and ring marks, plus some splitting of the lamination along the spine. You will see that it also has a short split/perforation at the front top-opening edge and a few other marks and creases. The black inners are in reasonable shape. One of them has a one inch tear from the die-cut centre whole and a smaller one on the top edge. Both have the beginnings of seam splits on the bottom edge. Overall grade is G.
CONDITION OF INSERTS The poster has some light creasing. Obviously it has sharp folds where it has been kept inside the record sleeve but there are no pin holes or pen marks (VG). The photos are in very nice shape (EX).
MATRIX NUMBERS XEX 709-1 XEX 710-1 XEX 711-1 XEX 712-1
