THE BEATLES WHITE ALBUM 1968 VINYL LOW 48,414 TOP LOADER COMPLETE MONO NO EMI (Side 1) VG+/EX PMC 7068 * NO RESERVE*
A VG+/EX copy of The Beatles 1968 vinyl double album, complete with original black die-cut inners, all 4 John Kelly prints and Hamilton collage poster.
Vinyl - I've graded as VG+/EX using Record Collector's grading guide, varies between the two gradings across the 4 sides. Vinyl still retains a glossy sheen on all 4 sides. A few pops and crackles here and there, usually at the start of each side or on the more popular tracks. Only one skip (Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except...), and a feint scratch on side 4 across Revolution 1 and Honey Pie which has absolutely no impact on playback. Impressive for a 50 year-old copy.
Gatefold Cover - Garrod and Lofthouse laminate cover still retains a lovely sheen, although there is slight discolouration, presumably due to age. There are also a few small nicks in the laminate on the inner cover, one to the left of the track listing (pictured) and one over George's left eye. There is also what looks like water damage at the top of the sleeve which has resulted in discolouration at the top of the spine. The Beatles is still visible on the spine but it has worn over the years.
Prints - The John Kelly pics are in excellent condition and still retain great colour and a glossy finish. No drawing pin holes or blu tac marks, these have clearly never been put up on anyone's bedroom wall!
Collage poster - In good condition except for few small fold tears in the centre. Slight wear on the folds and edges, as you'd expect.
Inners - The original black inner sleeves are included, but one has damage around the die-cut hole and was taped up by a previous owner. I have replaced the originals with brand new black die-cut inners, and will include all four in the package.
I've been as honest and as clear as possible in this description. It's by no means a perfect example of this great album, but it's complete and has a low number that clearly indicates this copy would have been one of the very first to hit the record stores on the day of release in 1968.
