This is an original stereo pressing bought in the UK at the time of first release. It is not a modern reissue.

This has the original numbered top loading cover, original poster, original photos and original black inner sleeves. 

This has the following 1st press matrix numbers:

Side one:      YEX 709-1

Description
Disc: The vinyl has retained its original sheen with various marks visible on each side in normal light and additional hairlines and sleeve-removal marks when viewed under bright, direct light. I have played the whole album in full (all four sides all the way through). It generally plays to a high standard with few note-worthy issues. There is background noise in the run-ins/outs, fades, segues, silent grooves and intros and the occasional random click. There are also several places where you get a short-lived click for a few revolutions (often between tracks), but there are very few that repeat for longer than a handful of revolutions. The main exceptions to this are as follows: on side one 'Dear Prudence' has a soft repeating click in the quiet intro, side two starts with a repeating click in 'Martha My Dear' which stops around the time the vocal comes in, and about nine soft clicks in 'I Will', side three has some clicks in the fade to 'Mother Nature's Son' that continue into 'Yer Blues' but don't last long once the vocals come in, and some small clicks in the background to 'Sexy Sadie'; side four has a quiet click in the background to 'Revolution 1', which continue quietly into the start of 'Honey Pie' before disappearing, then some louder clicks at the end of 'Cry Baby Cry' which continue into 'Revolution 9' but soon become just some crackly background noise. There are also some at the very end of side four. Many parts of this album play-grade as Excellent (Ex), but the issues mentioned above (and possibly a handful I've forgotten to mention) mean that the play-grading, taking into consideration all the highs and lows, is around Very Good Plus (VG+) for the whole album overall.

Labels: No tears, stickers, writing etc, just some spindle marking.

Sleeve: The original top-loader, numbered sleeve has no seam splits, tears, writing, stickers etc, but has some marks and age-related discolouration. The spine is good, with just some laminate peel/flaking and the spine text is fully legible. There is also some minor wear to the edges, spine and corners and some light creases etc, but overall this is a decent example.

Inner sleeves: Original black Apple inner sleeves are in superb condition with no splits or tears, just minor signs of age and use.

Photos: Original photos have some minor signs of age, but nothing significant.

Poster: Original poster has some slight foxing near the top-right corner, but it has never been on a wall and has no major issues.

Where gradings are given these are based on the UK Record Collector grading system (see below) and are visual gradings only, unless the listing specifically states that it is a play-grading.

I use the UK RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM. This grading system differs from some other grading systems, in particular the Goldmine grading system. Please make sure that you are familiar with the UK record collector grading system before you bid.

Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packag­ing might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable sur­face marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for prop­erly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

Plus (+) or Minus (-) are added where items fall between gradings. I only ever use one plus or minus.
