RARE MONO, VERY HARD TO FIND IN THIS ALL ROUND IMPRESSIVE CONDITION, ALL COMPONENTS IN THIS COMPLETE VINYL LP SET ARE 100% ORIGINAL
Arguably one of most INFLUENTIAL and ICONIC Albums of the 20th Century, this is an ORIGINAL 1968 UK Apple **FIRST ISSUE MONO** TWO Vinyl LP Set for The Beatles WHITE Album, entitled ‘The BEATLES’.
This SUPERB Set is 100% COMPLETE, with TWO ORIGINAL UK FIRST ISSUE MONO VINYL LPs, Four ORIGINAL Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS – one of each Beatle. It even has its ORIGINAL Photo Spacer, an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse, Two ORIGINAL MATT BLACK INNER BAGS. The set is housed within its ORIGINAL, First Issue, Fully Laminated TOP OPENING, NUMBERED GATEFOLD Sleeve.
LP Description:
The TWO First Issue MONO Vinyl LPs are on the traditional DARK GREEN Apple label, with ‘Sold in UK Subject to resale.…’, ‘An E.M.I. Recording’ and ‘Mfd. In UK’ label text to ALL four sides of the record labels.
Disc 1, Side 1 matrix XEX 709-1 & Side 2: XEX 710-1.
Disc 1, Side 1 stampers: 1/RA & Side 2 stampers are: 1/RP.
Disc 2, Side 3 matrix: XEX 711-3 & Side 4: XEX 712-1.
Disc 2, Side 3 stampers: 1/GGH & Side 4 stampers: 4/GAP .
The TWO 12" Vinyl LPs come in their ORIGINAL Matt Black Die Cut Inner Bags.
….And are housed in an ORIGINAL, FULLY LAMINATED Garrod and Lofthouse GATEFOLD Sleeve. This FIRST ISSUE Sleeve is TOP OPENING and NUMBERED 0119242, printed to the lower portion of the front of the sleeve. ‘The BEATLES’ is embossed a little way up above the number. The sleeve opens out to reveal black and white portraits of each of The Beatles together with the track listing.
There are Four ORIGINAL Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS – one of each Beatle, plus an ORIGINAL Protective Photo Spacer!
And an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse.
Play Quality:
Having carefully played both LPs, all FOUR sides play SUPERBLY throughout, very quiet between the tracks. There are NO skips or clicks - A very nice CLEAR Mono sound.
Condition:
All FOUR record labels labels are in near mint condition, VERY CLEAN, UNFADED, UNDAMAGED record labels, with VIVID Black Print, and no more than a few light spider trails, but nothing else .
Both sides of Record 1 are in IMPRESSIVE excellent plus condition, showing nothing more than a few light insignificant surface hairlines. Record 2, Side 3 is in STRONG excellent condition, with just a few more surface hairlines than Record 1. Record 2, Side 4 of the Vinyl Disc is in excellent plus condition, with no more than few light wispy surface hairlines. There are NO scuffs or deep scratches to any of the four sides of the GLOSSY Vinyl Playing surfaces.
The Original Fully Laminated Gatefold sleeve is in FIRM, STRONG excellent condition. This is a CLEAN, BRIGHT and GLOSSY sleeve throughout, with only mild record indentation and a couple of laminate pinches to the front. The back panel is CLEAN, with no more than a little mild record indentation and a mild laminate crease to the bottom right corner. The inner gatefold is in FIRM, CLEAN excellent plus condition. The spine edge is in FINE condition - only mild laminate flaking - and the printed wording ‘The Beatles Stereo PCS 7067-8 Mono PMC 7067-8‘ clearly readable. There are NO seam splits to any of the edges, and only very minor bruising to three of the corners, but this is extremely mild.
The four Original GLOSSY colour Photographs and the Original Photo spacer are all in SUPER near mint condition.
The Original factory folded Lyric Poster is in VERY NICE excellent plus condition, NO seam splits to any of the folds, NO pin holes, with only minor creasing around the folds.
The two Original Matt Black Die Cut Paper Inner Bags are excellent, generally prone to a lot of wear and tear, these two have survived remarkably well, with only the mildest of creasing. One has a 2" seam split to the top of one edge, the other has a tiny tear to the top edge, but certainly nothing serious.
Not surprisingly, Beatles UK White album MONOS are EXTREMELY SOUGHT AFTER, and this is the FINEST example that we have offered for a long while. They are becoming INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO FIND in ORIGINAL, COMPLETE and IMPRESSIVE condition. Many have been purchased by Serious Worldwide Beatles collectors, for Serious money, in recent years, and RARELY appear on the open market again. Arguably the most SIGNIFICANT of all The Beatles UK albums, interest will continue to RISE, thereby increasing the longer term INVESTMENT POTENTIAL.
