A 1968 first UK pressing from the brilliant Beatles, who were prolific in the recording studio - and due to their retirement from touring and playing live, they concentrated on recording.
This album is often rated as their finest period, happening after the dust had settled from Brian Epstein's passing. The 4 lads working more independently of each other.
Now they focused on composing these tracks without the influence or judgements of each other - which was a particular plus for George, with his exceptional contributions!
In the studio with George Martin they were the top band.
This FIRST UK pressing STEREO DOUBLE LP SET is special and an essential album of all The BEATLES releases.
At this point in the sixties the Stereo mix was given better consideration too, so the separation and mix is luxurious.
This particular copy is especially rare, having both discs OMIT the EMI credit on the lables, and a WIDE SPINE cover - only the second copy I have ever seen like this - and in beautiful condition!
CONDITION;
The VINYL grades NEAR MINT visually and sound playback.
GREAT sheen and 'deep groove', and sound is clear. Two very small needle marks exist but are hard to see and do not affect the sound in any way.
An OUTSTANDING copy of a fantastic double lp!
Labels are NEAR MINT with no stains, stickers or pen.
NO LABLES HAVE "An E.M.I. Recording"
Occasionally one disc may not, and it's extremely unusual with Stereo issues for BOTH discs to not have it. (EMI were the distributor for Apple Records).
The solid FULLY LAMINATED GATEFOLD 'TOPLOADER' COVER is NEAR MINT-
This has quite a WIDE SPINE, very little handling wear to the faces outside or in.
*N⁰. 0365444* is this copy number.
SUPERB gloss shine, flat and clean, and certainly well preserved.
A solid, and very respectable example!
CUSTOM BLACK INNER SLEEVES enclosed, plus the lyric/ picture POSTER and in great shape.
The four portrait photos are included.
The discs will be sent in new white protective sleeves, separated from the black covers.
