A 1968 first UK pressing from the ENIGMA that was THE BEATLES.
Due to their retirement from touring and playing live, they concentrated on recording, after returning from India with several compositions of their own.
Many rate this as their finest work.... though with Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road to their credit, it's dizzying to consider!! I wouldn't argue for one, just revel in all their brilliant music.
The production on this album can only be regarded as exceptional- a delightful Stereo production - unusual previously - this was highly regarded by George Martin, but was the beginning of some disparity too. They'd been apart and composed these tracks without the hectic touring playing live, & in the studio they were getting a more distant and recording separately.
George Harrison laid down 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps', he didn't get so many songs, but the ones he did were breathtakingly good! His 'Savoy Truffle' is really cool too. Paul's song to his sheepdog 'Martha My Dear' is lovely - at every play something else stands out.
It's an essential album among BEATLES releases.
These discs play really well, the brilliant music leaps from the grooves.
NOTE; Disc lables have no 'EMI Recording'
above the side numbers. It's very rare for both discs to have this format!

CONDITION;
The VINYL grades EXCELLENT, sparse light flecks under a bright lamp, One short 'needle trail' visible under closest scrutiny, not creating any problem.
Lovely clear & even sheen - playing wonderfully.
These sides were cut very nicely for APPLE, the music has a dimension that projects the luxurious music on this special wonderful album.
Labels are in EXCELLENT condition, no stickers or tears. The more common "EMI" mention is missing from all 4 lables! To find one disc without is highly regarded - but with this set it's BOTH discs!
The FULLY LAMINATED - NUMBERED GATEFOLD *TOP OPENING COVER* is EXCELLENT.
Embossed "The BEATLES" logo is clean and clear ('the white album' was not the actual title).
A stress to the INSIDE of the otherwise nice wide uncompressed spine has caused a short separation, hence the grading.
The lyrics and photo collage POSTER with 4 PHOTOS are included (discs will be sent in separate, white sleeves) all in flat, clean condition. Same for the matt black single-hole inner covers (discs sent in standard white lined sleeves).

*Not quite* a MINT example, but such a nice copy of this issue with nice clean discs is indeed hard to find.
