Description
As far as I'm aware (and I'm certainly no expert), the White Album was stamped up to the first 50,000 to come of the press. A low number (and this is low) can expect to attract a good deal of attention. For this reason, I would be grateful if all bidders would look at the photographs provided and read the following description very carefully before placing your bids.
This is the 1968 original sound recording of the White Album on the Apple label. Both LPs have sold in U.K. subject to resale price conditions, see price lists on the inner discs. This is a stereo recording with the Catalogue No. PCS 7068.
The Matrix Nos run from: YEX 709 1 to YEX 712 1.

CONDITION
VINYL: Plenty of light scuffs/scratches on all LPs - I can only see one small scratch that might be deep enough to affect play. This appears on the track JULIA. This album has been enjoyed many times and the vinyl is consistent with a well-played album approaching its fourth decade.
INNER SLEEVES: - original, plain, black, with centered hole. No attempt has been made to tidy them up (one's fine, the other is torn around the inner circle ... this could be restored however, as the paper is still there).
SLEEVE: The sleeve can only be described as FAIR to GOOD. It has discoloured, and there is a water stain (approx. 7" x 3.5") on the front cover, which has seeped through to the inner gatefold and the back. It has proven difficult to take a decent picture with a digi-camera (with a prat wielding it) - the effect is just a mass of brightness which doesn't pick out the finer detail and flaws. If you look at the gatefold photo, you'll probably get a better idea of the damage. In addition, there are kinks in the lamination (common with LP sleeves), the shape of the LP can be discerned through the cardboard (again common), and there are scuff/abrasion marks when held up to light. It's a top opening gatefold, and there is some feathering to these open edges. The spine is also poor - it is very difficult to read the title. ON THE PLUS SIDE the sleeve is all of a piece: nothing has come unstuck and it retains its original wall posters (please refer to the photo's), which are all in extremely good condition. They have never come out of the sleeve, and are spotless. The large wall poster is naturally vulnerable around its folded seams, and there is one small tear of about 2" to an edge, but that is unavoidable - and it doesn't show.
It's true that you'll probably find a better sleeve - what you won't find, however, is the 2,484th to come off the press. That is unique - and you are looking at it!
