Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab's "The Beatles: The Collection" 14 LP box set. I'm the second owner of the set. A long ago girlfriend bought it for her then husband. Long after her divorce, we started dating and she gave it to me. She said she'd be damned if she'd let him have. The set's serial number is 16,119.

Up for auction are the 14 Original Master Recording LPs , commemorative booklet with authenticity certificate, serial number and warrantee, Geo-Disc cartridge alignment disc, and storage case.

All the discs are in near-mint condition except one. I and my present lady have visually inspected each disc with cotton gloves, strong reading glasses and those great little 9 LED flashlights. No flaw escapes that bright blue/white light. There are no other visible scratches or surface imperfections except for two scratches on disc 9, side 2, tracks 2 and 3 and a very faint scuff on disc 12, side 1, tracks 1 and 2. See pics of disc 9 scratches. Disc 12 would not show the flaw on camera no matter what the light angle. All discs are perfectly flat.

According to the woman who gave them to me, some of these discs were never played and the others only once or twice. I played a few of them once when I got them and they have been stored ever since.

All the discs were wiped with isopropyl alcohol before inspection. Disc 9 and 12 were played after inspection on my Dual 1229 turntable in manual mode. I installed my new ADC SX-5E cartridge and eliptical needle and used the Geo-Disc for proper alignment. Tracking weight was set to 1.5 grams. Only one scratch on disc 9 made an audible tick, I couldn't hear the other one at normal listening level. Disc 12, side 1 played flawlessly.

All the album jackets are in near-mint condition. The static resistant plastic inner sleeves are free from visual flaws. The commemorative booklet with all the album artwork is excellent. The heavy white protective paper outer jacket shows wear but is free from any tears. The Geo-Disc is near-mint, but the box it's in is only fair condition with scuff marks on all sides and a few dings.

The storage case is in good condition. There are minor marks on all sides. The brass-plated hinges and latch show signs of tarnish, most from handling (skin oils and salts).
